LAST DAY OF 2012

HAPPY NEW YEAR’S TO EVERYONE!
We have a trail to the back of the lake on the ice now with 2 track set lanes. Also a few passes with the sled around the lake on the ice —but no track yet. Careful of a few rough icy spots from the slush.
All other trails are in not bad condition and holding up considering the lack of snow.(great sun though).
Thank you to our sponsors($100.00 +) and membership holders so far…..check out the list!

A word of THANKS

Our newly acquired ski-doo trailer blew out a tire a few days ago as the temperatures dropped. Right before the holidays. We were lucky it was on the Emerald Road and made it back to the parking lot. Allan from Yoho Trading Post was able to pick up a rim/tire for us in Golden that day and then Ski Club member Ginette and Boomer offered to fix it and did a fine job with helpful Lodge maintenance staff there also.
What Christmas Spirit…..THANK YOU ALL. Marilyn & Bruce & Denise

WIND & TRACKS

Mini Yoho Blow subside this morning in the Field valley. Info to Nat. Bridge is still blown in.
Kicking Horse got done yesterday afternoon by David.
Emerald got 6″ of beautiful fluff overnight and all is white! Hans was there first thing and redid all the Emerald trails…..MERRY CHRISTMAS
One good thing about the cold nights—that lake slush has got to be freezing up!
But—no track on the ice yet!
Rentals at Emerald Sports will be CLOSED on Christmas Day

connector now has a track on it

Top 2 km section of the Connector trail was track set this morning)sat Dec 22), early season conditions so watch out for the odd stump and brush sticking out.

Dave was heading out in the pm to put fresh tracks on the Field VRC/Nat Bridge to Kick Horse river section, so with the exception of the lake all our trails are  track set.

Go check it out!

Kicking Horse

Ski set the Kicking Horse today—only to the picnic table—and there was only a few inches of beautiful powder on the track. FABULOUS FULL ON SUNNY TRAIL! WITH -12 IT FELT LIKE -5.
Hans went to LL to get another machine(one that works) and the trailer tire blew out on the way back on the Emerald Lake Road. Not too much harm done—and he was gonna track set the EAST side of the lake today and I’m not sure how that went. We should know by tomorrow —-we open Emerald Sports full time for the Holidays then.
It’s the weekend—enjoy the trails and have a fabulous Christmas holiday. Marilyn
