Updates

Bruce, Denise and I just skied the Emerald Trails to find, shovel, reset and pack all the benches that got buried during our huge storm! Hans had just set a track and though the Horse Trail is covered in pine needles from the winds—the track is GREAT. Totally gorgeous on the Alluvial Fan. He also packed and groomed the Connector and the Kicking Horse Fire Road. What he also did is spend 3-4 hours shoveling out the slide area that came down yesterday to level it out and set his track! WHAT A GUY ! Thank you Hansi. So ALL trails between Field and Emerald are done and GREAT!
If anyone gets down the Kicking Horse Fire road—please shovel out the picnic table and the end bench. Thank you and happy skiing!

TRAIL AVALANCHE !!!

The snow has eased off for the moment. . The Connector trail WAS still skiable with a fairly good track but the CLIFFS at the base of the where the trail forks up to Emerald did AVALANCHE today !!! A SMALL section of the trail is covered —say at 1 km. past the junction on the downhill run—on the way up to Emerald.
We RECOMMEND NOT SKIING THAT TRAIL UNTIL THE CONDITIONS SETTLE. There is one more avalanche path on the Connector which you must cross—off the shoulder of Burgess and about 5 km. closer to the Lake–
BEST TO STAY OFF THE CONNECTOR FOR NOW!!!!
Ski the Kicking horse(ski set) or Emerald(packed). Play safe

TRAIL REPORT

Hans will be track setting today– the trails he packed yesterday—since he is trapped in Field due to all the road closures. He is on his way to Emerald as I write this–to head down the Connector and Kicking Horse River trail. GO HANSI
And late afternoon yesterday he set a SINGLE track on the Emerald trails–including the short section on the lake to AVOID THE AVALANCHE PATH!! Do enjoy–it is so mild–PLAY SAFE.

HOLLY COW WE GOT SNOW

Yoho Blow in Field but Hansi did get the machine going at Emerald !! He packed and GROOMED the HORSETRAIL AND LOOP AT THE BACK!! Way to go Hans ! He also packed most of the connector and Tally-ho but had no time to track set it. SO WE GOT TRACKS—ENJOY!

New Hard Tracks

Takkakkaw Falls Road & ALL THE TRAILS linked between Field to Emerald were packed and groomed TODAY ! (Yes–the Kicking Horse Fire road also). And they are all good and hard with this cold weather. Thank you Parks Canada……

Trail update —again

Hans just finished Emerald with a single track on the lake to lead to the back loop. He recommends using the Horse trail though—to stay on shore—due to the weight of the snow on the ice surface.
Yesterday as he was packing the Kicking Horse Fire road he saw a LINX ! He set a track there today also. Way to go Hans ! Thank YOU
