Friday PM 25th Feb

Joe did get out to Emerald and worked wonders! The FAN was heaven this afternoon. He even managed a preliminary track ON the ice to the back of the lake and also one SLED ONLY track ON the ice around the lake !!! Skiable but no track yet. He did run in to some slush spots but they will be all frozen in by now. The Horse Trail is super sweet also — Not bad at all for debris. Kicking Horse trail is the same as the last post. Trees down on the Connector–careful there !!! Have a great weekend. MT

Friday Feb. 25th

The cold front that came in last week did some damage as it came through Yoho!   The trails are littered with debris in sections and apparently—even Emerald trails got wiped out with the wind!  Joe will go out to Emerald today to see if he can help????   A few trees down on the Re-Connector again and Tally-Ho. Gorgeous sky but no snow in sight !!!! Stay posted……

The winners!!

We would like to present the costume award to this lovely family (see the picture below), they even had music to match their theme, we loved it!

Jessica our Challenge Queen says..

On behalf of the Field Kicking Horse Ski Club, we would like to thank everyone who participated in our Yoho Challenge fundraiser this past week. We had 45 people registered for the Challenge this week and 25 local Field resident participants! Between the e-transfers, the donation boxes and a few new memberships, we were able to raise approximately $1600.00 This is incredible and we are forever thankful!!
So many thanks to Joe for all the beautiful grooming, to all the volunteers who snowshoes & shoveled & cleared all those trees. Thanks to Jen Coffman and her staff at the Truffle Pigs for being there for us as always and donating hot drinks/discounts. Thanks to all the lovely bakers in town who provided us with delicious treats, to Parks Canada who lent us their equipment when ours broke down, to Maggie and Susan for mending the outstanding food station while slowly getting wet and very cold, to Marilyn and Bruce for their eternal love and support toward this club and bringing woodies to Emerald Lake, to all the participants and specially the ones skiing in yellow costumes! Thank you for all the donations to keep this little club and our ski trails going. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
