So–avoid these trails!!!

We tried to work some of the trails but it backfired!  Avoid the CONNECTOR  all the way from Field & the HORSE TRAIL at Emerald Lake.   We also tried to do another track on the lake–ran into slush but at least it will be frozen(hopefully hard) after tonight.   STILL PRETTY GOOD—the Kicking Horse Fire Road, the Tree Hugger Trail (very close to the trees below the walking trail and the Horse trail, and the FAN.   All good skiing — especially in that sunshine we had today!!!!   Ski safe…MT

I’m WRONG–sorry

Got to work and all the skiers say–they had a GOOD TIME !!  I expected much worse–the trails on shore are just fine–excellent for waxless skis. The lake is icy and slushy but passable. Joe brought the sled back up and wiped out the trail from Field but plans to put a trail in tomorrow.  SO–enjoy the spring skiing!

Warning!!

Hate to say this but…Conditions are horrible right now–until we get new snow!  Too warm, too wet, too soft and we can’t do a thing about it!!  Gal darn Pineapple Express.!!!                The best thing is–we had GREAT conditions on the past weekend for Rick Mercer to be in Field for our Yoho Blow Days–so keep an eye out for Tuesday evenings CBC program in the next few weeks.   And THINK SNOW!!!

New tracks!

Joe did it ALL today!  There is still slush and icy sections on the lake but all trails are good as can be! Both our Track Setting Machine hydraulics are stuck with the track DOWN so please be very careful on the downhills — walk or snowplough very hard–do  not get your skis stuck in those tracks on the downhills.(or sit)   It’s quite mild and beautiful soft snow….come on down this weekend. It’s also “YOHO BLOW DAZES” this weekend in Field–and–Rick Mercer will be here in town!!!  Come have some fun!  I skied just 2 kms on the Connector after work and saw moose tracks, lynx tracks and pine marten tracks….Nice.! And we put out the bench at the Emerald Creek–can someone help pack that area out if you are skiing by?? Just work it a bit….thanks  Marilyn
