END OF SEASON

Emerald Sports(x-c rentals) & Gifts will be closed mid-week starting today until further notice.
Grooming and track setting is done and we are now in between seasons.

We will however still rent out snowshoes –on weekends.  But… The weekend of the 8-9-10 April –we will be closed.

TRAIL GOOMING ENDS SOON

Parks Canada will finish with trail grooming in Yoho on April 1st !! It is still good spring skiing out there and the trails are holding up. Shortly–it will be fantastic off trail skiing—once the crust hardens up–and before it softens up (noon-ish or so). Come out and try this—it is fantastic for early morning ski skating off track.

DEMO MACHINE IN LAKE LOUISE

Parks Canada got a “demo” on the new double track ALPINA with the 2 track setters on the back early this morning. Hans and Andrew got to try it out on the Fairview Loop and then I got to ski it. Fantastic work–that is the BEST trail in the park now. Get out there and do it asap

CLIFF SLIDES ONTO XC TRAIL

Last Sunday was a pretty hot day and that sun brought down the snow off the south facing cliffs and buried the trail in 2 places just beyond the junction to the Natural Bridge on the Connector.(Same area as in January) Use caution when approaching –especially on the downhill.
We are in full on spring conditions with every type of snow coming at us. Great sunshine and warm though.
